Good makeup starts with good skin. It's very important that you start with a clean and moisturized face. Different cleansers work for everyone, but my very favorite is Oilacleanse by ZO Medical ($49). This cleanser gets rid of all impurities while helping to get rid of excess oiliness, especially in the t-zone. I always follow this with Cebatrol Oil Control Pads ($62). They are my favorite beauty product of all time. These pads help me manage my breakouts and oiliness and help my makeup to go on extra smooth. After the oil pads, I use Restoracalm moisturizer ($97) to repair my skin, take care of redness, and keep my skin moisturized without getting oily. It's so important to take care of your skin because once it starts to get bad, it's hard to get it back to normal.
After using my cleanser, oil pads, and moisturizer, I start with a light primer. There are so many out there, but my favorite two are YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector ($52) and Tom Ford Illuminating Primer ($74). Both of these are light and give a slight glow to the skin. Simply use your clean fingers to pat the primer into the skin evenly.
Following primer, I use MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush ($42) to apply foundation evenly across my face and on my eyelids. I've found that by using this brush to pat foundation into the skin rather than using a beauty blender or traditional foundation brush, I get a less streaky and more even application. My foundation of choice is Tom Ford Women's Traceless Foundation with SPF 15 ($80). I always have problems with foundations darkening over time on my skin or clogging my pores. Tom Ford Traceless foundation is great for my skin and does not darken over time after application. It provides light to medium coverage.
After evenly applying foundation, I dab La Prairie Light Fantastic Cellular Concealing Brightening Eye Concealer ($80) under my eyes. It comes with a refill, so you are getting 2 for the price of 1! It acts as a concealer and illuminator to brighten skin and cover under eye circles. Sometimes I even use it to highlight my cheekbones, chin, center of nose, or forehead.
After concealer, I use Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder - Bronze Glow ($46) right at my cheek bones to create a slight natural contour without taking it overboard. I also use the Sephora Classic Crease Shadow Brush #73 ($16) to place some of the highlighting powder in the crease of my eyelid. Just above the Bronze glow on my cheeks, I sweep Guerlain blush in Peach Boy ($46) on my cheekbones to give me some color.
Next, I sweep either Tom Ford Extreme Mascara ($46) or Mac In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Mascara ($22) over my upper and lower lashes.
For the final touch, I line my lips with a nude liner. My favorite is La Prairie's Twist up Luxe Liner in Nude ($50). This liner also comes with a refill so once again, you're getting 2 liners for the price of 1! After lining, I lightly fill in my lips and apply Mac Clear Lip Glass ($15). And in those simple steps you're ready to take on the day looking glow and fresh!
